Enjoy the timeless allure of a Zulucow, Nguni Black and White cowhide rug: a unique statement piece that effortlessly complements both traditional and contemporary home aesthetics. From urban lofts to cosy country retreats, these rugs add a touch of elegance to any space.
The Zulus have long revered Nguni cattle for their beauty and versatility, using their hides not only for rugs but also for shields, ceremonial clothing, and more.
Due to their natural origins, the measurements of each rug vary, with an approximate size of 2m x 180cm. Email me: lucy@zulucow.co.uk if you’d like more photos of a specific hide and measurements.
Zulucow’s hides are robust and easy to clean (if dirtied by muddy human or animal paws.)Â As the hair is a hollow fibre it does not absorb dirt. If your rug does get dirty, wait for the dirt to dry; shake the rug and then brush or vacuum it in the direction of the hair. Soak up any liquid spills with a paper towel/cloth. With a damp cloth dipped in warm soapy water, gently dab the mark out. Try not to get the hide wet as it is natural leather!
